IMPORTANCE OF TEETH


We, humans are omnivorous. That means we eat meat, vegetables, nuts, fruits, grains, sweet, sour, bitter, hard, soft and sticky.We eat continuously throughout the day.Chewing helps start digestion  in the mouth itself.What helps us chewing ? TEETH Aren't they ? Therefore teeth are of paramount importance to people. Protecting them for the rest of the life is even more important



Teeth establish an agreeable appearance to ones face.Untimely decay of your teeth may embarrass you and your nears and dears.So protecting them will bring everybody long lasting relief.

So how do you protect your teeth? When you eat various things, dental plaque builds up around your teeth which is a good proliferating ground for bacteria.If do not clean your teeth this bacteria will make cavities gingivitis and periodental diseases So how do you maintain your dental hygiene? 


1. BRUSHING

You can brush your teeth with an ordinary brush which you can buy in the market.There are brushes of various sizes and various types of bristles. One should use a suitable size that fits to his or her mouth.As for bristles dentists usually recommend soft bristles because they do not harm the enamel of the tooth.
Two minutes of brushing time is enough but three minutes is better.

Brush your teeth with fluoride tooth paste.
Don't over brush.That damages the enamel.
Don"t press your brush down too hard.
Let the brush touch your teeth lightly.
Brush gently every side of the tooth and the chewing surface.
Better you go in front of a mirror and brush being aware of what you are doing.

2. FLOSSING AND INTER DENTAL CLEANING

Almost all the people know brushing ,but they do not know what flossing is.Especially the people in the third world.If you want to take full care of your teeth and gum, you should do flossing as well. Flossing is cleaning to remove plaque and food particles between your teeth by using a thin artificial thread sent between your teeth and moving it gently up and down and back and forth motion. If you do not remove plaque and food particles between your teeth it may eventually harden  into tarter.Therefore flossing help protect your teeth making cavities  and gum diseases.Dentists recommend  flossing once a day.You can do it before or after brushing but what is important is doing it ,not setting the time
