WHAT ARE NAILS

Everybody has nails. Finger nails and toe nails.Animals too have nails.In humans it is the envelope

covering the tips of the fingers and toes. Nails are similer to claws in other animals and for them

they are like tools for their defence. But for humans,they give somewhat hardnessto the tips that is useful in doing their daytoday activities. They also add beauty to hands and feet.Therefore nails are very important and should cared for.

PREPARING NAILS BEFORE CUTTING
Finger nails grow faster than toe nails.Both needs clipping for many reasons.When they
have grown more than wanted they become a hindrance to day to day activities.
they get entangled with things like clothes and threads and that may damage edges of the nails.
Overgrown may be an obstacle for your writing,typing , dressing , ironing and doing delicate things. Moreover it can carry dirt with pathogen that can make you sick.
Usually toe nails are a little tougher than finger nails.There are some people whose  nails are
naturally tougher than of others. So in case of tough nails , you have to prepare them before 
cutting by soaking them in water for a few minutes. It  will soften the nails and make it easier
to cut and by that you can avoid damage to nails. 

HOW TO CUT
To cut your nails use a nail cutter.There are different types of nail cutters in the market.
Some have files too. don't use scissors and razor blades to cut your nails because they may 
cut too close to your finger damaging both the finger and nail. When you cut, cut straight across until the nail is no longer over your finger tip.

FILING YOUR NAILS

Your newly cut nails need filing.It makes the edges of your newly cut nails smooth.Use a nail file for this. There are files for normal filing and fine filing.Some nail cutters too come with files. You can buy them in the market.If you soaked your nails in water before cutting, your have to wait a little time to let them dry.If you file them wet, you will get jagged and rough nails and may result in splitting and cracking of your nails.When you file, file gently to smooth and beautify your nails. 




FINAL TOUCH
Check them again if your newly cut nails are the same length over your fingertip.If not file them a little more to make them so. Once they are, your job is finished. And again after about a month which depends from person to person. Be healthy, pretty and wise.
